My Story

Hi, I’m Britney Swanigan Lee—a teacher, a parent, and someone who has felt the deep exhaustion that comes from constantly giving without refilling my own cup. After experiencing severe postpartum depression, I struggled to find balance between being the teacher my students needed and the person I needed to be for myself. Then, when the COVID-19 pandemic completely changed education, I watched teachers everywhere—myself included—grapple with burnout, stress, and the overwhelming feeling of never doing enough.

Through mindfulness, intentional self-care, and setting healthy boundaries, I found a way to recharge and reset—not just for my students, but for me. That journey led me to create The Mindful Teacher Collective, a space where educators can find the support, tools, and reminders they need to prioritize their well-being.
